- Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: This is an MDS 9000 documentation request to update the MDS 9000 Series Interfaces Configuration Guide, Release 8.x Table 5 and 6 have incorrect information. The 9148S has zero configurable global buffers available per port group, when all other ports in the port group are NOT configured with minimum BB credits. The 9148S only has 253 global buffers available per port, when all other ports in the port group are configured as F-ports and port BB credits are set to 1. If the other ports in the port group are configured as E-ports or with port mode Auto, they must have a minimum of 2 port BB credits each configured. Only 250 credits will be available for the remaining port. The 9396S buffer-to-buffer credit buffer allocation is in both Table 3 and Table 6. Where there are discrepancies between the two tables, table 3 is correct. Conditions: MDS 9148S and 9396S with non-default BB credit configurations.
