Description (partial)

Symptom:
Point 1:
====
++ When customer use the backup of CUSP 8.5.X to restore on vCUSP 10.1, following configuration (SIP PING, Listen points) will not be restored, as that need's IP address configuration, and we cannot restore IP Address from backup of CUSP 8.X, as for SRE module, IP address is configured on router, and SRE uses RBCP to get that info.

Missing config:
=========
++ SIP PING configuration will be missing.
++ Listen points are not restored

++ For missing Listen points, Cisco documentation is provided in the release notes of 10.x, as followed.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cusp/rel10_1/releasenotes/cusprn101.html

Listen points are not restored if the IP address of the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy on SRE module and Cisco Unified SIP Proxy 10.1 are different. You must manually configure the listen points.

++ But we don't have any documentation for "SIP Ping" config missing in our documentation, which should be documented as well, and this defect is created for fixing documentation.

Point 2:
====
++ We need to also document, how to configure the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway, after the restore is finished, as followed :

++ After restore is finished, and user need to manually configure IP address and re-associate the users to groups with a password reset manually, immediately, after the module is back, after reload, followed by restore as followed :

++ Make sure you have console access to the VM of vCUSP 10.1, while you are restoring the configuration of CUSP 8.X on vCUSP 10.1.
++ Once restore is finished, reload the module, as instructed on the screen of restore.
++ Watch the process of reload on the console of vCUSP 10.1, and immediately access the console after CUSP is booted, and prompting for username and password, and configure the IP address/subnet mask/default Gateway, and then user as followed, as mentioned in the release note:

Process to configure the IP address: (EXP)
=============================
(INIT)cusp#
(INIT)cusp#configure terminal
Enter configuration command, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
(INIT)cusp(config)#interface FastEthernet 0
(INIT)cusp(config-interface)#ip address 10.65.125.187 255.255.255.128
(INIT)cusp(config-interface)#end interface
(INIT)cusp(config)#ip default-gateway 10.65.125.129
SYSTEM ONLINE
cusp(config)#exit
cusp#wr mem

Once the cusp is in online state, re-associate the users to groups with a password reset and try to ssh.

cusp#configure terminal
cusp#username cisco group Administrators
cusp#username cisco password cisco
cusp#wr mem
