Cisco Bug: CSCvs88345 - Documentation of SSMv7 Installation Guide is incomplete for SSM v6.x
May 14, 2020
- Cisco Smart Software Manager satellite
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The documentation for patching SSM versions 7-201907 and 7-201910 is incorrect, and may lead to misunderstandings when a system needs to be upgraded from an SSM Enhanced Edition 6.x. Conditions: Step 1. Install an SSM 6.x server. Step 2. Apply the SSM_On_Prem_7-201907 and follow the procedures in the Smart_Software_Manager_On-Prem_7_Installation_Guide, for patching a standalone system. Step 3. In Appendix 1. Patching/ Upgrading a Standalone System, in step 1, it mentions to use the "onprem-console" command. This command is not supported, nor does it exist in SSM 6.x. It was only introduced in SSM v7 releases.
