  • Cisco HyperFlex HX-Series

Known Affected Releases

3.5(2b)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
HXDP: 3.5(2b) with 4 HX220C-M4S converged node in a cluster with 2 HXAF220C-M5SX as compute nodes

as per adding HX PID server as compute is not supported https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/hyperconverged_systems/HyperFlex_HX_DataPlatformSoftware/Installation_VMWare_ESXi/3_5/b_HyperFlexSystems_Installation_Guide_for_VMware_ESXi_3_5/b_HyperFlex_Systems_GettingStartedGuide_3_0_chapter_010.html

++ should ideally throw an error at installer while adding HX PID server as compute node, but it allowed and got added as compute node in cluster which is not an expected behavior

Conditions:
4 node HX220C-M4S cluster
server s got added as compute node: 2 HXAF220C-M5SX
