Cisco Bug: CSCvs80627 - N3K: After upgrade to 7.x/9.x, CoPP is not configured correctly

Last Modified

Aug 26, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 3000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

7.0(3)I7(4) 7.0(3)I7(6) 7.0(3)I7(7)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
A Nexus 3000 or 3100 series device that is upgraded from 6.x NX-OS software releases to 7.x or 9.x software releases (such as 7.0(3)I7(7) or 9.2(4)) may not configure CoPP ACLs as expected. As a result, the device may encounter issues with control plane traffic not being forwarded from the data plane to the control plane.

For example, the device may stop receiving HSRP packets in the control plane. As a result, an Active/Active HSRP scenario may be observed on HSRP groups attached to a physical interface.

Conditions:
1. Nexus 3000 or 3100 series device
2. Nexus device was recently upgraded from a 6.x NX-OS software release to a 7.x or 9.x NX-OS software release
3. Nexus device may not have ACLs present under some key CoPP classes, such as HSRP (routingProto2).
