Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco 8000 Series Routers

Known Affected Releases

7.0.12.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In rare circumstances, the xlncd process may crash when starting up. After crashing it is automatically restarted and is expected to recover with no further impact.

Conditions:
The xlncd process is only present on the Cisco 8000 and Network Convergence System 540L platforms.

The crash only occurs when the process starts up, which may be triggered by:

1) The router booting
2) A redundancy switchover event
3) A software install operation updating xlncd or a library that it depends on.

The crash is exposed by a rare timing condition, and is not expected to be seen frequently.
