Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Computing System

Known Affected Releases

3.2(3h)B 4.0(4d)B

Description (partial)

Symptom:
PXE boot operation fails to complete due to hang in file transfer
(Seen only in ESXi AutoDeploy case on specific setup)

The blade would get stuck at DHCP DORA process.

Conditions:
This was seen with ESXi Autodeploy on a specific setup which likely had unusually high traffic directed at client server. This traffic is not from PXE server for file transfer but from some other source.

This causes Receive Queue to get stuck resulting in hang in the file transfer operation.

This has not been seen on any other environment. But in case similar hang is observed, it may
be on account unusually high traffic (from other source) directed at PXE client.
