Symptom: A vulnerability in the REST API of Cisco UCS Director could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary code with root privileges on the underlying operating system. The vulnerability is due to improper input validation. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by crafting a malicious file and sending it to the REST API. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to open a remote shell and execute code with root privileges. Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.
