Description (partial)

Symptom:
In step 7 of the Converting Back to Cisco NX-OS section of the Converting from Cisco NX-OS to ACI Boot Mode and from ACI Boot Mode Back to Cisco NX-OS chapter in our Cisco Nexus 9000 Series NX-OS Software Upgrade and Downgrade Guide for releases 7.X, 9.2(X) and 9.3(X) documents, it reads the following:
Re-copy the Cisco NX-OS image into bootflash: and set the appropriate boot variables to ensure that the system boots the Cisco NX-OS image on the next reload.
Example:

switch# copy source filesystem bootflash:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# boot nxos bootflash:nxos-image-name
switch(config)# copy running-config startup-config
switch(config)# end

Customer is interpreting the source keyword above to be literal and issuing the copy command as described above and experiencing a failure.

Conditions:
Converting N9K from ACI to NXOS
