Description (partial)

When using EVPN L3 A/A the local MAC IP may have two entries in EVPN, one with ESI-0 and Ethernet Tag 0. If this occurs, the peer device will not be able to sync MAC-IP

The entries can be seen by running the following command:
<CmdBold>show evpn evi mac<noCmdBold>
If this issue is seen, an entry with a 0 Label and an Ethernet Tag of 0 will be seen in the show command output:

VPN-ID Encap MAC address IP address Nexthop Label

   Ethernet Tag : 0

The issue cannot occur on initial configuration commit.
This issue can affect all platforms that support EVPN running IOS-XR 7.0.90. The affected platforms are ASR9k and NCS5500.

This issue may occur if the user rapidly removes and re-adds EVPN and L2VPN configuration.
