Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls

Known Affected Releases

9.8(4.12)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
ICMP echo requests being dropped intermittently when pinging from host in the network to the ASA interface(to the box). SSH and ASDM traffic works fine.
Echo request packets are intermittently hitting an access-list that is applied on the interface which is being pinged.

Conditions:
Has been noticed on ASA5506 with BVI interfaces configured and quite some traffic going through the box. The pinged ASA interface doesn't have to be a part of the BVI.
If there is no BVI config or no traffic going through the box - drops are not observed.
