Cisco Bug: CSCvs49980 - cBR8 IP ToS Classifier does not support range for DS Service flows

Last Modified

Jan 02, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco cBR Series Converged Broadband Routers

Known Affected Releases

16.7.1

Description (partial)

Symptom:
cBR8 does not support range for IP ToS classifier in DS Service flows from the CM Config File.
The cBR8 will only classify traffic in the classifier for the first value in the range.

Example:

		IpPacketClassifier
		{
			IpTos 0xa0e0fc;
		}

The cBR8 will only match traffic under that classifier for IP Packets with ToS value 0xA0 -> ToS 160 (decimal), while the expect behaviour was to match any packet with a ToS value between 0xA0 and 0xE0 (160 to 224 in decimal).

Conditions:
When using an IP ToS Classifier to classify traffic in a DS Service Flow where the specified value cover a range of ToS.

The problem happens in DS only, since in the US, the classification is done on the modem side.
