Cisco Bug: CSCvs47328 - FMFP-3-OBJ_DWNLD_TO_DP_FAILED WRClient download to DP failed seen with macro auto global processing
Nov 25, 2020
- Cisco 2600 Series Multiservice Platforms
Known Affected Releases
16.12.3 16.12.4 16.9.4
Symptom: Error message FMFP-3-OBJ_DWNLD_TO_DP_FAILED WRClient download to DP failed is seen when macro auto global processing is enabled. There is no traffic forwarding impact due to these error messages. Conditions: + When we Have a C9400 with 2 Layer 3 links to a 6800 switch which also has 2 L3 links we see the error "FMFP-3-OBJ_DWNLD_TO_DP_FAILED WRClient download to DP failed" many times under the following conditions. 1) C9400 is runing 16.9.4 or above. 2) C9400 has "macro auto global processing" applied. 3) Given that the 6800 has the same MAC address on all Layer 3 ports by design then on the 9400 the auto smart port feature is writing to and deleting from the Crimson Database the info regarding the MAC seen on each of those 2 layer 3 ports that connect to the 6800. Since the MAC is shown on one port and then shown on the other then this process of write and delete to the database is repeated many times until the MAC entry on the database for the Auto Smart Ports feature gets stuck and we see the error messages.
