Description (partial)

Symptom:
During 1st attempt to log in, the "#" character acts as a backspace and deletes the previous character. It is necessary to fail the first login attempt to be able to use the "#" character and complete the fallback login.

Conditions:
This issue occurs with a non-US keyboard.
