Cisco Bug: CSCvs42523 - UCS Director API - Cannot create IP Pool IPv4 Block

Last Modified

Mar 05, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco UCS Director

Known Affected Releases

6.7(3.1.67434)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When using the "/cloupia/api-v2/ucsIpPool" API to create either a new IP Pool or the "/cloupia/api-v2/ucsIpPoolBlock" API to create a new IP Block in an existing pool, I receive the error "Failed to create IP Pool. IPv4 From address and Default gateway must be in same network".
As per the finding from Tamil
if (!UCSValidatorUtils.validateGatewayAddress(fromIP, gateway))
{
throw new Exception("IP address and Default gateway must be in same network");
}
we are not considering the subnet mask.

The action also fails since we use the same validation

Conditions:
If the subnet is 255.255.254.0 , the starting IP and gate way IP may vary. We will hit the issue then.
