Cisco Bug: CSCvs38613 - isis crashes while processing App Specific SRLG (TLV 238) change

Last Modified

Jan 20, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

6.5.3.ROUT

Description (partial)

Symptom:
ISIS process unexpectedly restarts itself

Conditions:
Problem can be seen in an unstable network, when source routers originate LSPs with App Specific SRLG (TLV 238), and the LSP is quickly and repeatedly updated in very short interval.

The crash may happen upon processing second LSP changes before running SPF, or upon running TI-LFA SPF while the LSP has already changed. Not every such event sequence leads to the crash though, very specific internal memory processing state needs to be met in order to experience the problem.
