Last Modified

Jun 17, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco UCS Virtual Interface Card

Known Affected Releases

4.0(0.9)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When making zoning changes involving an IBM Storwize storage, every ESXi host on UCS loses the path to these IBM storage devices for about a minute, even if the ESXi hosts were not part of the zone or the change.

- There is no communication between the MDS and the hosts during the zoning (except the one host which is part of the zone being modified).
- After the RSCN is sent to the storage device on the zoneset activation, the IBM Storwize array sends an ADISC to the hosts. There is no reply for this ADISC from the hosts.
- There are no drops on the MDS devices.

Conditions:
Issue isolated to be affecting the following combination :

VIC 1340
ESXi 6.7u3
Fnic 4.0.0.40-1OEM.670.0.0.8169922
UCSM firmware : 4.0(4f)
