Description (partial)

Symptom:
When attempting to establish a VPN session to an IPv6 VPN gateway using a shortened IPv6 address with double colon (::) to connect, AnyConnect Client fails with the following error:

"The VPN connection failed due to an unexpected internal error encountered by the VPN client"

Windows, Linux and MacOs Anyconnect clients are affected.

Conditions:
Shortened representation of the IPv6 address used to connect to the gateway (:: on it),  for instance XXXX::XXXX:XXXX:XXXX
