Cisco Bug: CSCvs22418 - shadow bd/epg is not created and traffic is not working when bd context changed from ctx1 to ctx2

Last Modified

Aug 26, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC)

Known Affected Releases

2.2(2.275) 2.2(3.20)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Traffic is impacted when changing the VRF associated with BDs referred by PG enabled EPGs that have a global contract between them

Conditions:
Template S1 has VRFs ctx1 and ctx2 and stretched to two sites site1 and site2
Template S2, BD1 and EPG1(refers to BD1) are configured only to site1. BD1 is mapped to ctx1 and preferred group configured on EPG1
Template S3, BD2 and EPG2(refers to BD2) are configured only to site3. BD2 is mapped to ctx1 and preferred group configured on EPG2.
Global Contract C1 is created on template S1. EPG1 consumes this contract and EPG2 provides this contract (subnet defined under EPG2 and shared between VRF flag enabled).

Changed VRF on BD1 from ctx1 to ctx2 and deployed Template S2

Traffic between EPG1 and EPG2 is dropped after the above change
