Cisco Bug: CSCvs16308 - Fix messages when XBAR is disabled due to internal CRC errors
Jan 13, 2020
- Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Clarify messaging when the "hardware fabric crc threshold" function detects sufficient internal CRCs on an XBAR. Sample: %XBAR-2-XBAR_MONITOR_INTERNAL_CRC_ERR: Fab_slot-23 detects CRC error at ingress stage2, putting it in failure state %MODULE-2-XBAR_DIAG_FAIL: Xbar 5 (Serial number: JAE22450BQT) reported failure 23/1-23/0 due to XBM - CRC error detected on Module in device DEV_XBAR_COMPLEX (device error 0x0) Problems: 1 - " Fab_slot-23 detects CRC error at ingress stage2" seems to be wrong. It should indicate "stage 3" not "stage 2". 2 - In the same message it should say "Xbar 5" and not "Fab_slot-23". Conditions: Occurs when "hardware fabric crc threshold" is configured and sufficient internal CRCs are detected on an XBAR. Only applies to MDS 9700 switches.
