Cisco Bug: CSCvs14717 - IPsec tunnel stuck in IKE_INIATE with vEdge not initiating IKE packets.
Aug 17, 2020
- Cisco vEdge Router
Known Affected Releases
vEdge adjusts the dead-peer-detection configuration parameters, "interval" and "retries", to the maximum values, 30 and 10 respectively, if those are configured with bigger than those maximum values. Symptom: A transport-side IPSec tunnel doesn't give up dead-peer-detection, but stucks at IKE_INITIATE status for long time, if its peer doesn't respond. Conditions: If the dead-peer-detection is configured with "interval" seconds and "retries" times, the completion time (seconds) is calculated by the following formula: completion time = interval * (1.8 ^ retries - 1.0) / (1.8 - 1.0) If "interval" and "retries" are big values, the dead-peer-detection takes for long time to complete.
