Cisco Bug: CSCvs13307 - "show calendar" cli is incorrectly showing system clock instead of hwclock

Last Modified

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

6.6.1.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
"show calendar" is supposed to show device's "hwclock",
however in some cases it is showing "system clock", that is wrong.

"show calendar" cli needs a fix, to avoid showing the wrong "system clock",
and always show the expected "hwclock"

The correct cli output, showing hwclock:
---------------------------------------------

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:NCS-5501e_ME03# show calendar
Tue Nov 19 15:15:27.181 JST
Tue Nov 19 15:15:27 2019 0.000000 seconds <<<<<

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:NCS-5501e_ME03#run
Tue Nov 19 15:15:28.714 JST
[xr-vm_node0_RP0_CPU0:~]$ hwclock
Tue Nov 19 06:15:32 2019 0.000000 seconds <<<<<
[xr-vm_node0_RP0_CPU0:~]$ date
Tue Nov 19 15:15:34 JST 2019

The wrong cli output, showing the system clock "date"
---------------------------------------------------------

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:NCS-5501b_ME04# show calendar
Tue Nov 19 15:16:17.585 JST
Tue Nov 19 15:16:17 JST 2019 <<<<<<

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:NCS-5501b_ME04#run
Tue Nov 19 15:16:21.255 JST
[xr-vm_node0_RP0_CPU0:~]$ hwclock
Tue Nov 19 06:16:23 2019 0.000000 seconds
[xr-vm_node0_RP0_CPU0:~]$ date
Tue Nov 19 15:16:26 JST 2019 <<<<<<
