Symptom: If this has happened in your environment, you will have the following upgrade error: Installing Software Packages on Storage Controller VM failed in Task: 'Configuring Controller VM System Disk' with Error: 'Failed to configure System Device Reason: Could not find an SSD of minimum size 90115 MB for System Device' Check to see if /var/stv and /var/zookeeper in the affected host's SCVM are mounted to tmpfs instead of /dev/sdb1 and /dev/sdb2: root@SpringpathController:~# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on udev 36G 4.0K 36G 1% /dev tmpfs 7.1G 6.4M 7.1G 1% /run /dev/sda1 2.4G 1.4G 917M 61% / none 5.0M 4.0K 5.0M 1% /run/lock none 36G 0 36G 0% /run/shm none 100M 0 100M 0% /run/user tmpfs 4.0G 25M 4.0G 1% /var/stv tmpfs 1.0M 0 1.0M 0% /var/zookeeper none 4.0K 0 4.0K 0% /sys/fs/cgroup Conditions: This has been observed during upgrades from 2.1(1b) to 3.0(1i) and 3.5(2e). So far, all of the affected ESXi versions are 6.0 U3.
