Last Modified

Jun 14, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Data Center Network Manager

Known Affected Releases

11.2(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Customer is concerned about an error in the DCNM techsupport bundle. Their security team required an explanation of this message.

WARN [fms.ws] IdentityManager -> getCurrentUsername() -> Unable to get current username. Getting username from Token.

https://cdetsng.cisco.com/webui/#view=CSCuv45724 brought above message and code.

Conditions:
DCNM 11.2(1)

Under the following condition user name will not be there in the cache. Hence getting user from token.

This is harmless message.

======

Getting logged user name is null if
   - Shallow discovery done on secondary server and
   - Authentication mode is remote

In that case DCNM user who initiated the shallow discovery (which is used by LAN deep discovery) is null in CDP seed table. As a result, deep discovery fails with the error message "UserId null"
