Symptom:
Jabber for Mac does not load chat history list when switched from Classic to Modern appearance

Conditions:
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Jabber for Mac in classic appearance and start a conversation
2. Note that the conversation is listed in the Chats tab
3. Switch to modern appearance and observe that the chat history list is empty
4. Switch back to classic appearance and the chat history list is populated again
