Cisco Bug: CSCvr96877 - Telemetry: Interface wildcard

Last Modified

Jul 17, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

6.5.3.MGBL 7.2.1.MGBL

Description (partial)

Symptom:
For the example in 'Conditions',
1) Cisco-IOS-XR-infra-statsd-oper:infra-statistics/interfaces/interface[interface-name=GigabitEthernetX*]/latest/data-rate
2) openconfig-interfaces:interfaces/interface[name='GigX*']/state
were returning data for interfaces GigabitEthernet0/0/0/0, GigabitEthernet0/0/0/1, etc. though expect no data due to filter mismatch.

Conditions:
Subscribe to a sensor path with interface with a wildcard filter value of, for example, GigabitEthernetX*, where "GigabitEthernetX" is not desired because of the extra 'X' character which should result in no interface matches. Also, a note that X could be some other character.

A subscription could be 1) configuration under 'telemetry model-driven', or 2) via gNMI subscribe request.

An example of a couple sensor paths:
1) Cisco-IOS-XR-infra-statsd-oper:infra-statistics/interfaces/interface[interface-name=GigabitEthernetX*]/latest/data-rate
2) openconfig-interfaces:interfaces/interface[name='GigX*']/state
