Cisco Bug: CSCvm74707 - Cisco Prime Infrastructure Cross-site Scripting vulnerability
Mar 06, 2020
- Cisco Prime Infrastructure
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Prime Infrastructure could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the web-based management interface of an affected system. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input by the web-based management interface of the affected system. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user of the interface to click a maliciously crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive, browser-based information. For more information about XSS attacks and potential mitigations, see "Understanding Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Threat Vectors" at https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoAppliedMitigationBulletin/cisco-amb-20060922-understanding-xss and "Cross-site Scripting (XSS)" at https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Cross-site_Scripting_(XSS). https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20190109-cpi-xss Conditions: Please see the Security Advisory.
