Last Modified

Jan 22, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

16.6.2 16.9.1

Description (partial)

A switch impacted by this issue will print logs similar to the following:

*May 30 19:28:31.045: %FMFP-3-OBJ_DWNLD_TO_DP_FAILED:Switch 1 R0/0: fman_fp_image: label 0x100004a2 download to DP failed
*May 30 19:29:15.218: %FMFP-3-OBJ_DWNLD_TO_DP_FAILED:Switch 1 R0/0: fman_fp_image: label 0x100004a2 download to DP failed

These logs will not be specific to just labels - there will be variants that show specific IP Address / Subnet mask entries as failed as well.

Routes for certain adjacencies through the switch will fail or not function correctly.

This issue impacts both the Catalyst 9k platforms and the C3850 / C3650 platforms.

Routing on the switch must be in use, as the objects that will experience an issue are routes and adjacencies for routing.

MPLS Routing in use has been observed commonly in conjunction with this issue but is not a requirement.
