Last Modified

Aug 15, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Aironet 3700 Series Access Points

Known Affected Releases

8.5(124.43)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When reloading an autonomous IOS access point, one sees errors similar to these:

Please configure sniffer ip-address <ip> port <number>
Please configure sniffer ip-address <ip> port <number>
sniffer ip-address 192.168.10.2 source-port 5555 dest-port 5000

Conditions:
A sniffer's IP address, and UDP source and destination ports, have been configured with syntax similar to this:

ap(config)#sniffer ip-address 192.168.10.2 port 5555 5000

This command was then saved to NVRAM, where it was written with the following (incorrect) syntax:

sniffer ip-address 192.168.10.2 source-port 5555 dest-port 5000
