Description (partial)

On the WLC Web-GUI there is already a column for "Upgrade Role - Master/Slave" present. Once these AP's have been configured under the FlexConnect Groups AND a pre-download has started, ONLY then will the AP's populate information into these columns.

When scaled to a large number of AP's and a large number of FlexConnect Groups, it is difficult for a customer to go to each Flex Group to ensure the proper AP's have been configured as Master.

Currently it is by design that these AP's only show up after the download has started

Step 7 Once FlexConnect Upgrade is initiated, only the Master AP will download the image from the WLC. Under All AP page, Upgrade Role will be updated as Master/Central which means Master AP has downloaded the image from the WLC which is at the central location. The Slave AP will download the image from the Master AP which is at the local site and is the reason under All AP page Upgrade Role will be updated as Slave/Local.

From the Flex WLC Deployment guide.
