Cisco Bug: CSCvi89246 - DSG Tunnel Changes causes Multicast DB Limit Error but within 5k UBR10 limit

Last Modified

Apr 27, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco uBR10000 Series Universal Broadband Routers

Known Affected Releases

12.2(33)SCI4

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Problem Description:

(Large) DSG classifier changes either globally or individually removed from Interface Cable via "no cable downstream dsg tg xx channel yy" take too long to reduce PRE multicast DB entries. In such a way that when users changing dsg tunnels (specifically adding new tunnels AFTER cfr changes), run into either the: 1) UBR10K throwing Multicast DB 5000 limit reached errors OR 2) Catastrophic IPC timeouts and UBR10K reboot to recover.

Conditions:
Large amount of DSG classifier changes OR large amount of per-Mac Domain DSG Tg Changes.

Example 1:

While fully loaded UBR10K has DSG TGs in every Mac-Domain, making a DSG classifier change globally

Example 2:

While individually changing each Mac-Domain DSG TG configuration resulting in slow multicast DB entry deletion
