Cisco Bug: CSCvi51011 - IX 5000 displays its own filmstrip/PIP over CMS on-screen messages

Last Modified

May 17, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco TelePresence IX5000 Series

Known Affected Releases

8.2.3 8.3.0

Description (partial)

Symptom:
+ When presentation is on any of the main displays, the IX will automatically move the main video stream to a filmstrip on one of the other displays. Content on right display moves main right video to center filmstrip. The IX is creating the filmstrip here, not CMS.
+ CMS will display messages as triggered via API from BT custom scheduling application. These can be displayed on top, middle or bottom of center IX screen. Due to participant labels on top of screen, the end of meeting message would overlap when placed at the top, and was moved to the bottom via API.
+ However, when content is on the main displays as noted above (in the customer's case, the right display), the IX filmstrip will display right main video over the on-screen message, obscuring the message.

Conditions:
+ IX 5000, any version. were content is displayed on any of the main screens
+ IX 5000 in a call with one or more TIP/triple screen endpoint
+ CMS, any current version, using messageText API's in use on CMS to display on-screen messages
