Oct 21, 2019
- Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: On a Nexus 9500 Switch, whenever Standby SUP with older nx-os image 6.x is inserted in chassis containing Active Supervisor running NX-OS image 7.0(3)I4(1) and later, the Standby Supervisor can get stuck in boot loop and might not be able to recover. This happens because of the difference in the BIOS versions between the 6.x and the newer 7.x images post 7.0(3)I4(1) Conditions: This can happen when a new RMA Supervisor is inserted into the chassis. The new RMA Supervisor is running an older 6.x code and thereby running an older BIOS The current Active Supervisor is running newer 7.0(3)I4(1) and later release.
