Cisco Bug: CSCvi07363 - Windows 10 won't connect - certificate error

Last Modified

Oct 22, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Video Surveillance 6000 Series IP Cameras

Known Affected Releases

2.9(3) V4.4

Description (partial)

Symptom:
On windows 10 on IE, when we access a camera URL with HTTPS, it gives following error:

The website's security certificate is not secure.
Error Code: 0

After this, we are not able to move ahead. Following are the effected firmwares, there may be more as well.

2611 ? firmware version 4.4.2-2
3421V ? firmware version 2.9.3-3

The probable cause is Windows 10 disables support for sha-1 based certificates and our firmwares use sha-1 certificate.
During our local testing, this issue was not consistent, on some windows 10 https went ahead post warning on some it didn't

Conditions:
Windows 10 machine, access a camera URL over Https. You get a warning and then you are not able to move ahead and get following error:

The website's security certificate is not secure.
Error Code: 0
