Cisco Bug: CSCvi06586 - Files take up space on /bootflash/received if the transfer gets interrupted (Java/HTML)

Last Modified

Oct 09, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Computing System

Known Affected Releases

2.2(8c)B 3.1(2e)B

Description (partial)

Symptom:
It has been noticed across various UCSM firmware releases and across FI 6100/6200/6300 series platforms, that if the file transfer to the UCSM is interrupted either by terminating the session or by interrupting the application used for file transfer, the files would get stuck in the /bootflash/received folder and would take up space on the Bootflash causing space utilization issues on FIs preventing upgrade.

If the transfer completes, then we would see the legitimate files getting placed in the bootflash and the illegitimate files getting deleted (ref. dcosAG), but if the transfer is interrupted, we see that the already transferred files get stuck in the /bootflash/received folder which take unnecessary space.
