Cisco Bug: CSCvi06586 - Files take up space on /bootflash/received if the transfer gets interrupted (Java/HTML)
Aug 06, 2020
- Cisco Unified Computing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: It has been noticed across various UCSM firmware releases and across FI 6100/6200/6300 series platforms, that if the file transfer to the UCSM is interrupted either by terminating the session or by interrupting the application used for file transfer, the files would get stuck in the /bootflash/received folder and would take up space on the Bootflash causing space utilization issues on FIs preventing upgrade. If the transfer completes, then we would see the legitimate files getting placed in the bootflash and the illegitimate files getting deleted (ref. dcosAG), but if the transfer is interrupted, we see that the already transferred files get stuck in the /bootflash/received folder which take unnecessary space. ~logs~ Linux(debug)# ls -l total 744092 -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon shadow 20971520 Feb 21 02:15 Vmware-ESXi-6.0.0-3620759-Custom-Cisco-18.104.22.168.iso.1 -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon shadow 20971520 Feb 21 02:15 Vmware-ESXi-6.0.0-3620759-Custom-Cisco-22.214.171.124.iso.2 -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon shadow 20971520 Feb 21 01:57 ucs-bxxx-drivers-windows.3.2.2a.iso.1 -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon shadow 20971520 Feb 21 01:57 ucs-bxxx-drivers-windows.3.2.2a.iso.2 -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon shadow 20971520 Feb 21 01:57 ucs-bxxx-drivers-windows.3.2.2a.iso.3 -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon shadow 320709764 Nov 25 2013 ucs-k9-bundle-b-series.2.0.5e.B.bin -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon shadow 20971520 Feb 21 02:21 ucs-k9-bundle-b-series.3.1.3e.B.bin.1 -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon shadow 20971520 Feb 21 02:21 ucs-k9-bundle-b-series.3.1.3e.B.bin.2 Linux(debug)# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/root 300M 168M 133M 56% / none 2.0M 4.0K 2.0M 1% /post none 300M 168M 133M 56% /var none 3.0G 952M 2.1G 32% /isan none 600M 2.3M 598M 1% /var/tmp none 2.0G 235M 1.8G 12% /var/sysmgr none 140M 72K 140M 1% /var/sysmgr/ftp none 128M 0 128M 0% /callhome none 512M 230M 283M 45% /dev/shm none 240M 1.8M 239M 1% /volatile none 8.0M 0 8.0M 0% /debug /dev/mtdblock2 48M 1.5M 47M 3% /mnt/plog /dev/sda5 84M 4.2M 76M 6% /mnt/cfg/0 /dev/sda6 84M 4.2M 76M 6% /mnt/cfg/1 none 400M 4.3M 396M 2% /var/sysmgr/startup-cfg /dev/sda4 84M 14M 66M 18% /mnt/pss /dev/sda3 16G 9.9G 5.4G 65% /bootflash <<<<<<< 65% already /dev/sda7 3.8G 76M 3.6G 3% /opt /dev/mtdblock3 3.9M 3.9M 0 100% /opt/db/nvram /dev/sda8 3.8G 222M 3.4G 7% /workspace /dev/sda9 5.7G 246M 5.1G 5% /spare tmpfs 1.0M 8.0K 1016K 1% /bootflash/sysdebug/tftpd_logs none 50M 6.4M 44M 13% /debug-plugin Conditions: Open the UCSM (Java/HTML), upload any image .BIN or .ISO (or any other), and abruptly close the Java applet for transfer or restart the HTMP session.
