Description (partial)

N3K-C3600 series of switches with power supply modules NXA-PAC-1100W-PI2 or NXA-PAC-1100W-PE2 may experience system resets due to NMI caused by watchdog timeouts. Additional symptoms include PLATFORM-2-PS_ABSENT messages indicating a power supply is absent/shutdown.

Symptom:
Multiple PLATFORM-2-PS_ABSENT and associated system log entries are seen, indicating changes to the power supply status absent of any actual change to the power supplies. These may be followed by a KERN-0-SYSTEM_MSG when a kernel panic is caused by the watchdog detecting a hard lockup condition.

Conditions:
Normal operating conditions
