Cisco Bug: CSCvi03454 - VMware VMotion causes ISE nodes to stop responding

Known Affected Releases

2.0(1.904) 2.1(0.906) 2.2(0.906) 2.3(0.902) 2.6(0.156)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
During a VMware Vmotion event, the client (ISE) is quiesced. This means all I/O is paused for some period of time. Sometimes when this happens, ISE fails to recover. This can result in the system freezing or worse, a kernel panic. We currently say this is supported with shared storage. We don't currently support VMware Snapshots because they behave in a similar way.

Conditions:
Performing a VMotion on an active ISE node, especially when under load.

Why does the ISE documentation state that vMotion is supported, while <key>CSCvi03454</key> says it is not (and to disable it)?
