Cisco Bug: CSCvi02741 - Nexus3000 - IGMP snooping can't be disabled globally if PIM enabled on VLAN

Last Modified

Aug 13, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

7.0(3)I4(7)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
IGMP snooping can't be disabled globally or per vlan if PIM is enabled on such VLAN's.:
config)#no ip igmp snooping

Warning: IGMP snooping cannot be disabled on a PIM enabled SVIs. There are one or more vlans with PIM enabled. One such Vlan is vlan <>

This is an expected behavior with 7.x releases

Conditions:
Running any 7.x release. With 6.x releases IGMP snooping still can be disabled per vlan or globally with PIM enabled.
Upon upgrade to 7.x Multicast setup relying on static OIF's (L3) and L2 flooding (snooping disabled) will need changes in configuration/setup.
