Description (partial)

ZFS snapshots remain attached to the file system after a file system backup fails. The ZFS snapshots record all changes made to the file system, and leaving them will eventually fill up the file system.

There are many safeguards in the backupFileSystem script, it is unclear why the backup script failed to clean up the snapshots on dpool.
