Cisco Bug: CSCvh89610 - Tomahawk: queue-limit on low bandwidths
Oct 20, 2019
- Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The issue is that with an input rate greater than the shaping rate and the shaping rate lower than 227kbps on the parent class, say input rate is 400kbps and shaping rate is 187kbps as below, the child class class-default default queue size seems very large which lead to the problem that the queue does not drop packets for quite a while(several minutes or longer) after the traffic starts and it keeps sending traffic for a long time(several minutes or longer) after the input traffic stopped. When we configure a specific queue size for this class-default, say queue-limit 100kbytes, the shaping works as expected with almost immediate drop after the traffic starts and it stops sending traffic right after input stopped. Conditions: At parent level when the shaper is configured less than 227 kbps.
