<B>Symptom:</B>
A vulnerability in the NX-OS custom RPM functionality could allow an authenticated, local attacker to create or overwrite arbitrary files on an affected device.

The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation during the RPM installation. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating an RPM image containing malicious code and installing on an affected device. These actions could allow the attacker to create and overwrite files outside of the intended directory as root.
