Last Modified

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When an ISL diagnostic test runs for its duration it does not automatically output the stop statistics. An explicit stop command must be issued to see the statistics
<pre>
MDS9710# show clock ; diagnostic isl generator interface fc9/1 start duration 10
Time source is NTP
17:14:54.204 EST Wed Jan 24 2018
Waiting for sync to be achieved on the link ....
Link initialized successfully. Starting the test.
MDS9710#
</pre>

More than 10 seconds has elapsed so the test should be stopped but it still displays:

<pre>
MDS9710# show clock ; show diagnostic isl status index start 0 num 200
Time source is NTP
17:15:08.514 EST Wed Jan 24 2018
Status of isl_daig tests in progress:
----------------------------------------------------------
Index  Interface        Mode <Gen/Ref>          Test
----------------------------------------------------------

 0 fc9/1 Generator SH Traffic Test
----------------------------------------------------------
 </pre>

The stop command must be issued to get any statistics:

<pre>
MDS9710# show clock ; diagnostic isl generator interface fc9/1 stop
Time source is NTP
17:15:30.814 EST Wed Jan 24 2018
