Description (partial)

Symptom:
Catalyst 3850 switch may reload unexpectedly and will resume normal operation after the reboot.

The crash is a kernel panic, which will produce a file named "kernel.rp_1.core.gz" or similar in the flash:/core directory of the affected switch.

Conditions:
The crash appears to occur due to a bad socket buffer, which is a data structure internal to the Linux kernel underneath IOS-XE. Exact conditions necessary to trigger this issue are currently unknown. This document will be updated if and as further information is known.
