Description (partial)

Symptom:
Consider an etherchannel running the LACP protocol and with one or more hot standby ports.  Prior to switchover, these ports will be in the "H" state and ready to take over if one of the active port channel members go down.  After a switchover, these ports will be marked as "D" (link down) and will not be able to take over if one of the active port channel members were to go down.
