Symptom: Issue is with the URI's Domain being transformed from Capital to Small on its own when assigning the DN/ Phone with the end User: 'Directory URI' in 'End User Configuration' John.Doe@Example.com 'Directory URIs' in 'Directory Number Configuration' John.Doe@example.com Conditions: As per the link http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/9x/uc9x/dialplan.html#wp1512262 Deploying Directory URI Dialing Per RFC 3261 (section 19.1.4, URI Comparison) comparison of the userinfo of SIP URIs has to be case-sensitive. According to this standardized behaviors, Alice@cisco.com and email@example.com are not to be considered equivalent. When routing directory URIs, Unified CM respects this standard and looks for a case-sensitive full match of the user portion and a case-insensitive match of the host portion. The domain is not case sensitive. So John.Doe@Example.com and John.Doe@example.com would be equivalent because the user info matches case-sensitive.
