Cisco Bug: CSCuw55602 - Need proper error message, and forced capitalization in migrate phone

Last Modified

Jun 14, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)

Known Affected Releases

10.0(1.10000.24) 10.5(2.10000.5) 11.0(1.10000.10) 9.1(2.10000.28)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Need proper error message and also Migrate Phone does not capitalize alphanumeric characters

Conditions:
Go to ccmadmin - Device - Phone - Add New - create a phone say 7975,sccp .

Go to BAT - Phone - Phone Template - Add New - create a template with same phone model and protocol (7975&SCCP)

Now go to created phone configuration page - go to related links - Select Migrate phone - Select created template - enter new mac address - Click Save

Here it throws mac address is already exists. It has to throw proper error "Migration failed"

For capitalization:
Because the Migrate Phone UI flow in Device > Phone > Related Links doesn't capitalize letters in the inputted MAC address, you are able to write a MAC address for a phone into the CUCM DB with lowercase characters which will cause some phones to not register.
