Cisco Bug: CSCuw30128 - CWMS only validates Subject CN and not SAN when uploading wildcard certs
Oct 02, 2015
- Cisco Webex Meetings Server
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: When uploading a wildcard certificate, CWMS will only validate the Common Name to check if it is valid for either the WebEx Site URL or the Admin Site URL in CWMS 2.5 MR5 and above. For example if a wildcard certificate was generated with the CN = CompanyName with a Subject Alternative Name of DNS = *.domain.com, the system will not allow this to be uploaded since CN = CompanyName would not match with a valid WebEx Site URL, even though one of the SAN entries would. This results in the error message: "Server domains in the certificate do not match the WebEx site URL ..." Conditions: When uploading a wildcard certificate, CWMS will only validate the Common Name to check if it is valid for either the WebEx Site URL or the Admin Site URL in CWMS 2.5 MR5 and above.
