Cisco Bug: CSCuw26678 - Setting the service type to HEVC results in IIOP error, can cause reboot
Mar 15, 2019
- Cisco Digital Content Manager (DCM) Software
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The DCM SNMP error trace log is showing marshalling errors. After a while this can result in the DCM becoming not responsive anymore via the management interface. Ultimately it can also result in a DCM reboot. Conditions: When changing the service type of an output service to HEVC (via the GUI SI Settings -> SDT), this results in IIOP marshalling errors if the DCM SNMP app polls the output card. The SNMP app will go into an endless retry loop for the call and if a lot of services are present, then this can result in the DCM becoming not responsive anymore via the mgmt interface. When the mainboard CPU load gets too high (as a consequence of the endless loop), it can also get out of resources and ultimately the whole chassis reboots. Typically the mainboard traces continuously something like "Error creating new socket: Too many open files"
