Cisco Bug: CSCuw24415 - Follow RFC 3597 standard for unknown RR types and classes
Nov 15, 2016
- Cisco Network Registrar
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The CLI (nrcmd) syntax for the zone name command implied that it supported any resource record class, however it only supports the IN class. The syntax has been corrected to replace the optional class with IN instead. The CLI (nrcmd) syntax used RRType-number for unknown resource record types, but this is not consistent with RFC 3597 which uses TYPEnumber. Network Registrar used number for unknown class types, but this is not consistent with RFC 3597 which uses CLASSnumber. Conditions: These situation should be extremely rare as using unknown RR types or unknown RR classes is unusual.
