Cisco Bug: CSCut14629 - Syslog alerting from AC stops working when receiving a lot of events

Last Modified

Aug 12, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Firepower Management Center

Known Affected Releases

5.4.0.1

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Configure syslog alerting in an Access Control Rule to have connection events forwarded to a syslog server. If the rule matches on a lot of traffic and there are many connection events, the sensor stops forwarding the events.

Conditions:
In my testing I was pushing roughly 100-200Mbps of traffic through the sensor and it stopped working. When the sensor was seeing only a few connections per second the alerting worked.
